What's in a name?

"What's in a name? Woud a rose by any other name smell as sweet?" - Shakespeare's 'Romeo and Juliet

Famous words with a true question.

After spending 8 hours with other Christian mom bloggers at Mama's Write Conference my mind is a swirl of thoughts.  Kat Lee from Inspired To Action challenged us to find the Why, Who and How of our blog

I don't think I ever fully solidified in my head the 'why' behind my blog. But when I chose the name I knew I wanted it to represent not just the me now but the me I am in striving towards.

I am strive for closeness with my Savior
I am strive to love my husband well
I am strive to be the mom my children need
I am strive to be the friend who is faithful

My faith is the reason I can do these things. In my own strength I am weak, but Christ my Savior is strong.

I want my home to be a reflection of Him, not me. I am not talking about scripture, crosses and pictures of Christ { not that I have a problem with them, I have some lovely verse art in my home!} but that can't be it. Because just seeing it in my home is meaningless unless I am living out those scriptures, showing the reason for that cross, and being Christ to those who come in my door.

When you are filled with the Spirit it overflows in every area of your life. You don't have to carry a Bible around for others to know you are filled with faith. They will know by your actions and words

So the name Faith-Filled Home is my heart now and the heart I am pursuing. I have PLENTY of room for growth, and I look forward to that growth as it will change me and make me more Christ-like. I also want this heart for my readers. I want you to have the peace that come with knowing the one true Savior, this peace surpassed all understanding. This peace gives you strength to face trial with joy and to live with a hope for the future.
