Happy New Year 2012

Well its a new year. So much happened in 2011 it is crazy to think about

  • We moved at the tail end of 2010 and have been enjoying a house and yard all of 2011.
  • D turned 1 Jan 14
  • E turned 1 Dec 30
  • Celebrated our 3rd anniversary
  • Got a new to us Trailblazer
  • Joined the Leadership team at my churches Parents of Preschoolers ministry
  • Reconnected with old friend

Just the highlights. Being a stay at home mom leads to a pretty non eventful year. Can't get fired, or promoted. Though it may seem stagnant it is anything but boring. My boys keep me on my toes.

I am looking forward to this upcoming year. I am not too big into New Years Resolutions, however I decided to make a few.

  1. Be super intentional about friendships, and putting others first
  2. Meal plan and do once a month cooking (Onceamonthmom
  3. Organize/Declutter my small home to maximize every sq. in. (MySimplerLife)
  4. Pay off debt
  5. Save for a house
Nothing awe inspiring but this 5 things will make for a better year. Do you go NYR? I don't plan to take this too lightly. I really want all of these things even more than I want to loose weight, which is always the #1 NYR. I am so thankful for another year, month, week,  and day to serve the Lord. May my resolutions give glory to Him in 2012!

Happy New Year Ya'll!

Thankful Thursday~Four weeks with 2 boys

Today my new baby Elliot is 4 weeks old! Oh how time flies with 2! It is amazing that I am able to get anything accomplished! But some how I am able to:

  1. keep our new little home clean,
  2. laundry done,
  3. boys fed, diapered, and clothed,
  4. cook breakfast, lunch and dinner
  5. Grocery shop
I also am able at times to do things for myself with and without the boys

  1. Attend MOPS and Building Blocks
  2. Go shopping for clothes for MYSELF!!!
  3. Go out with girlfriends
  4. In Feburary attend Bible study
Its definitely harder with two, it takes twice as long to do anything, but I love my boys and wouldn't trade it for the world! I am so thankful for my family I wouldn't trade them for anything!

Thankful Thursday

So it happens this time of year that everyone talks about what they are thankful for. I see no reason to change this. It is something I should do daily. I may have to start a once a week or month ' Thankful Thursday' post. So I am starting today Thanksgiving Day to give thanks

  • First and foremost I am thankful for my Lord and Savior, who laid down his life so that I might be saved
  • My little family of almost 4; Robert, David and Elliot(just 6 weeks left little man), I love my men
  • My immediate family, my parents and sibling, and Robert's parents and siblings.
  • My extended family, grandparents (all of mine are still living!) aunts, uncles and cousins
  • That I have a hard working husband who on any given week works 3-4 jobs so that we can have the necessities and some luxuries
  • Those necessities being, a home, food, electricity, clothing, running water
  • Those luxuries, 2 cars, gasoline, fancy cellphones, a computer,
  • Dave Ramsey Financial Peace University. Learning now to avoid many mistakes American's make with the money God has given them
  • Watermark Community Church. A loving body of believers who serve, equip, teach, and love each other
  • My church playgroup, MOPS, and Building Blocks,
  • Friends
  • Mary Kay

These are the big things, each of these could be broken down even further, but I will do that in my regular Thankful Thursday.

I can always find something to be thankful for. All have to do is think about families who don't have a home, food, or a job. I can think about children who are fatherless/motherless. I can think about countries stricken with famine and genocide.

I have MUCH to be thankful for, so do you! If you are able to read this post that means you have internet, or a phone w/ internet capability, or access to friend, family or library with it. That right there is a luxury that we, that I take for granted.

I hope to live this next year more thankful than the last, that I can teach my sons to be thankful. That most of the things in life we come to expect are really privileges. I hope that my family will spend 2011 blessing others who feel that they don't have much to be thankful for. That the Lord will use me to be light to those who are in darkness, so that they can have a Heavenly Father to be thankful for!

God Bless
